Description
Junior Structural Engineer - Infrastructure | Brisbane's Best Learning EnvironmentIf you've just started your engineering career and you already know that technical design is your thing – read on. This is the role that sets careers apart.
This consultancy is one of Brisbane's best-kept secrets.
Established in the 1980s, they've quietly built a reputation for solving the problems that others find too hard. Major bridges, transport hubs, water infrastructure, port facilities – when the project is complex, high-stakes, and technically demanding, clients come to this team. Not because they're the cheapest. Because they're the best.
They're a specialist boutique firm that consistently punches above their weight, competing with and regularly beating the top tier on technical work. Their reputation is built entirely on the quality of their engineers and the rigour of their design – and that's exactly the environment you'd be stepping into.
This Role Is Not For Everyone
Let's be direct: this firm engineers. Everyone designs. As you grow more senior, you'll also project manage – but engineering excellence always comes first. If your ambition is to move into pure project management and step away from the technical side, this isn't your place.
But if you want to become a genuinely outstanding engineer – the kind who other engineers call when the problem is hard – there is no better place in Brisbane to do that.
What Your Days Will Look Like
You'll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the most experienced infrastructure engineers in the industry. This is a highly collaborative team that solves problems together, not in silos. You'll:
- Work directly with directors and senior engineers who are actively designing every day
- Contribute to technically complex structural and civil infrastructure projects
- Develop capability across advanced structural analysis software with expert guidance
- Attend site and construction stages to see how great design translates to the real world
- Learn in an environment where asking hard questions is encouraged, not discouraged
- Mentoring that is genuinely rare – directors here design; they don't just manage
- Exposure to large-scale, technically demanding infrastructure projects from early in your career
- A collaborative, stable culture where engineers stay, grow, and build long careers
- Competitive salary with regular reviews as your capability develops
- A clear pathway to becoming a senior engineer in a firm known for technical excellence
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering – structural focus preferred, civil infrastructure broadly considered
- 1–2 years of structural design experience on infrastructure projects
- Genuine technical curiosity and a passion for engineering design
- A collaborative mindset – this team works together, and that's a big part of what makes it work
- The ambition to grow into one of the best design engineers in the market.
- You must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role – we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.
